The Associate Medical Director will assist in recommending, developing, implementing and evaluating goals, objectives, policies and procedures. We have four adult and juvenile County jail facilities with a multidisciplinary team.

What you will typically be responsible for: - Working closely with the senior executive leadership team of Contra Costa Health Services (CCHS)
- Coordinating and facilitates the integration of services throughout the system of care
- Participating in the management of division and inter-division issues
- Assisting in developing standards of care for assigned program area
- Developing strategies to expand provider networks
- Recommending, developing, implementing, and evaluating goals, objectives, policies and procedures related to assigned program
- Ensuring assigned program meets the overall goals in the areas of quality and safety, patient experience, staff experience, and financial stewardship
- Providing surveillance and planning for improvement of medical care or medical teaching
- Acting as liaison between Administration and other physicians
- Consulting with Nursing Administration regarding patient care
- Monitoring, evaluating, and reporting on the quality and appropriateness of assigned program
- Supervising medical, professional, technical, and support staff; full supervision includes responsibility for selection, performance evaluation, and corrective action
- Reviewing and evaluating administrative and patient care policies and procedures
- Participating in in-service training programs
- Providing expert consultation and information to administration regarding assigned program’s ability to meet the psychosocial, medical, and physical needs of patients and their families
- Training and supervising residents
- Orienting consulting physicians in protocols and procedures
- Acting for the Director in the latter’s absence within area of program responsibility
- Performing related duties as assigned
- Standing ready to immediately report to work or respond to inquiries off hours if called, as directed by the Health Services Director/Designee

Minimum QualificationsLicense Required: Possession of a valid physician license issued by the Medical Board of California, and a Board Certification in the specialty applicable for the assignment.
Unrestricted current medical license, certification or registration in CA with DEA licensure.
Board Certified in Internal Medicine, Family Practice, Emergency Medicine or Correctional Medicine.
Experience: Three (3) years of full-time experience, or its equivalent, in the practice of medicine. One (1) year in a responsible administrative capacity applicable for the assignment is desirable.
Desirable Qualifications:- Experience in Pain Management, Palliative Care, Addiction Medicine, Geriatrics, Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT), Hospital Medicine.
