    Position Scope

    Hiring Range: $73,736 - $92,144

    Salary range is the entire compensation range for the position classification.

    Hiring range is an estimate of the compensation amount for the selected candidate. The actual salary offer will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including skills, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, training, and equity amongst other City employees in a similar position.

    Under general supervision, performs a variety of professional, technical and administrative activities to support the functions of the Community Services Department; manages special projects and assists with program management; duties may vary according to work assignment.

    Primary Duties and Responsibilities

    The following duties ARE NOT intended to serve as a comprehensive list of all duties performed by all employees in this classification, only a representative summary of the primary duties and responsibilities. Incumbent(s) may not be required to perform all duties listed and may be required to perform additional, position-specific duties.
    • Collects financial, technical and administrative information and compiles data for reports; updates and corrects operational and statistical database; prepares and submits financial and technical reports as required.
    • Responsible for project management of assigned programs and manages special projects as directed; conducts research, collects and consolidates data, and compiles findings; validates and analyzes data, recommends solutions, and presents results to appropriate individuals or groups.
    • Analyzes trends, market data and issues; investigates and resolves concerns and problems.
    • Prepares presentations and written communications on behalf of the Community Services Director.
    • Assists in the overall coordination, administration and implementation of City sponsored and Community partnered special events, neighborhood outreach and Community Services Department marketing and communication functions.Assists with the development of various forms of communication including social media, advertisements, Department brochure, newsletters, press releases and websites.
    • Assists in the development of alternate funding sources; researches, writes, and administers grants; seeks and fulfills program sponsorships.
    • Assists and maintains strategic partnerships and alliances with local businesses, non-profit organizations, community groups and other government agencies.Resolves problems and customer service inquiries within scope of authority; provides advice and assistance to customers and external agencies.Composes correspondence and other documents on a wide variety of subjects requiring knowledge of the programs, services and policies of the Department; creates, develops and processes technical documents and other communications.
    • Maintains calendars, schedules meetings and appointments; prioritizes and resolves complex meeting schedules; prepares meeting agendas and presentation materials; takes and transcribes meeting minutes, and prepares summaries as required.
    • Performs and coordinates a wide range of technical, analytical, and administrative duties.
    • Performs other duties as assigned or required.


    Minimum Qualifications & Position Requirements

    Education and Experience:
    Bachelor's Degree in Public or Business Administration, and two (2) year's experience in project management and administrative support, including one (1) year of public sector experience; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.

    Necessary Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
    Knowledge of:
    • Project management principles and techniques.
    • Management research and evaluation techniques, methods, and procedures.
    • Principles and practices of accounting, statistical analysis and budgets.
    • Principles and practices of record keeping and records management.
    • Marketing and research methods, principles and procedures; experience in marketing programs through social media platforms (Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, Pinterest, QR, etc.).
    Skill in:
    • Analyzing and interpreting applicable ordinances, rules, laws, codes, and regulations.
    • Assessing and prioritizing multiple tasks, projects and demands.
    • Analyzing problems, identifying solutions, recommending and implementing methods, procedure and techniques for resolutions.
    • Managing a budget.
    • Managing multiple projects at one time.
    • Public relations principles, preparing presentations, and speaking in public.
    • Preparing complex, comprehensive, and accurate documents and reports.
    • Developing and communicating policies and procedures.
    • Operating a personal computer utilizing a variety of business software.
    • Working independently and as a team member, maintaining composure, and working effectively in a high-pressure environment with changing priorities.
    • Effective oral and written communication.
    • Maintaining a high level of attention to detail.
    Ability to:
    • Present ideas concisely and effectively, orally and in writing.
    • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with City officials, governmental agencies and employees of all levels, and the general public.


    Additional Information

    12 Month Goals:
    • Manage the Eye on Buckeye Publication including design and division coordination
    • Create a training program for department software and internal procedures
    • Become proficient in Tyler software, Power DMS, Granicus and NEO Gov
    • Establish a review timeline and process for department policies
    • Conduct a department wide accreditation training program
