Full-time position available with the General Services Department, Information Technology Division located at 4800 East 63rd Street
Salary Range: $27.25-$40.88/hour
Normal Work Days/Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. *Telework schedule available after 6-month probationary period completed

Responsibilities
- Leads and performs work of a unit engaged in varied computer operations and architecture projects.
- Assists lower-level IT associates with more complex technical projects and problems occasionally.
- Provides first and second-tier desktop support across multiple locations.
- Provides first-tier support for network issues.
- Provide first-tier support for server issues.
- Manages one or more server-based systems for the organization.
- Directs medium projects in a competent fashion.
- Provides instruction to assigned team to effectively accomplish assigned projects.
- Provides task direction as necessary.
- Follows appropriate processes and procedures for assigned projects.
- Makes significant contributions to the success of projects by applying demonstrated knowledge.
- Performs technical review of work performed by support team.
- Anticipates hardware and software needs and makes recommendations related to the acquisition of such.
- Installs and maintains hardware and software in accordance with prescribed procedures.
- Prepares system documentation within established standards.
- Writes or revises complex program documentation, operations documentation and user guides in accordance with standards.
- Prepares highly complex technical and quality control testing activities in accordance with prescribed procedures.
- Prepares test data and analyzes program or application performance during testing.
- Compares testing results with provided documentation to identify and resolve any discrepancies.
- Participates in selecting and implementing operation systems and architecture improvements.
- Analyzes problems, determines cause and initiates corrective action in areas that require an expert level of technical competency.
- Leads project teams in the implementation of design/analysis and programming/coding.
- Prepares instructional materials and training curriculum for operation and user training.
- Utilizes interpersonal and communication skills to train, instruct and educate groups and individuals in a team environment.
- Provides technical expertise to other team members for their technical development.
- Recommends process or procedure changes.
- Participates in process and quality improvement.
- Follows through on commitments made to customers.
- Assures that customer requirements are met.
- Works effectively with peers, team members, and other departments.
- Performs related work as required.
- Provide backup coverage for helpdesk ticket assignments.
- Assist with application support as assigned.
Qualifications
REQUIRES an accredited Bachelor's degree and 4 years of technology experience; OR an equivalent combination of education and technology experience.
Preference given to those with experience working in large scale CRM, Work Management, and SQL databases. Other Information

For positions with a salary grade of EX6 or higher that require an accredited degree, qualifying professional experience must be obtained AFTER the accredited degree is obtained.

If appointed, non-residents must obtain residency inside Kansas City, Missouri's city limits within nine months.
