    The LPA Program Manager - transportation project designer is responsible for directing a team of LPA Program Specialist in the administrative oversight of local public agency projects that receive federal funding and ensuring project comply with applicable state and federal standards and requirements. Responsibilities are performed under general supervision.

    What you’ll do:

    • Assists cities and counties with federally funded Local Public Agency (LPA) projects throughout the entire delivery process from planning/programming, design, right of way, construction, through project close-out.
    • Supervises design and construction personnel including making employment-related decisions, training, and conducting performance management.
    • Provides guidance, training, and workshops to internal staff and external partners regarding federal-aid requirements.
    • Communicates with other department staff on LPA project process, including potential traffic impacts.
    • Checks and reviews LPA plans for accuracy and compliance with applicable state and federal standards.
    • Communicates with East-West Gateway on Reasonable Progress and LPA project tracking.


    All you need for success:

    • Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited college or university curriculum.
    • Successful completion of the Engineer-in-Training exam.
    • Six years of experience in highway or transportation engineering.


    Special Working Conditions:

    • Job requires district-wide and/or statewide travel.
