What you’ll do:The Director of Social Work will oversee all aspects of social work within the facility, ensuring that patient progress, treatment planning, and community placement are handled with the utmost care and adherence to policies, rules, and regulations governing client services. This role requires some knowledge of legal requirements and court procedures involved in the placement of persons with mental illnesses and developmental disabilities.
Key Responsibilities: - Plan, direct, and evaluate the clinical social work activities of the social work department.
- Ensure compliance with all legal requirements and court procedures for the placement of persons with mental illnesses and/or developmental disabilities.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures that govern client services.
- Collaborate with medical staff, community agencies, and other stakeholders to coordinate comprehensive care and community placement.
- Conduct regular audits and assessments to ensure high standards of care and compliance with regulations.
- Provide leadership and mentorship to social work staff, fostering a culture of professional development and continuous improvement.
- Address and resolve any issues or concerns related to patient care and social work services.
- Ensure guardianship process is followed.
- Ensure offender notifications are completed and a annual notice is sent to Central Office.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: - Knowledge of legal requirements and court procedures for the placement of persons with mental illnesses and/or developmental disabilities.
- Strong leadership and management skills with the ability to plan, direct, and evaluate clinical activities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to develop and implement effective policies and procedures.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to handle complex situations with professionalism and empathy.
Experience and Educations Requirements: - Master’s degree in social work (MSW) from an accredited institution.
- Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or equivalent certification.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a supervisory role within a healthcare setting.
