    The Position

    Bargaining Unit: Local 21 - Non-Supervisory Management

    We are looking to add one (1) Planner and Evaluator - Level A to our dedicated Health Services team. A Planner and Evaluator plays an important role in the department's program evaluation and quality improvement efforts.

    • Conducting basic data-related tasks such as data gathering, cleaning, and creation of tables drawn from simple computations
    • Summarizing project-related data and outcomes in a visual presentation or a preliminary written report
    • Supporting community-based partners in their quarterly data needs for reporting requirements
    • Providing staff assistance to community groups or committees looking to examine program-related issues or outcomes
    • Creating and testing data variables drawing from staff guidelines

    Minimum Qualifications

    License Required: Candidates must possess a valid California motor vehicle operator’s license. Out of state valid motor vehicle operator’s license will be accepted during the application process.

    Education: Possession of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a major in social science/policy, behavioral science, public health, criminal justice, mathematics, business intelligence, information sciences, or a closely related field.

    Substitution for required academic major: One (1) year of full-time (or its equivalent) experience performing program planning or evaluation work in a non-profit, government agency, or private sector may be substituted for the required academic major.

    Selection Process

    1. Application Filing and Evaluation: Applicants will be required to complete a supplemental questionnaire at the time of application, applications will be evaluated to determine which candidates will move forward in the next phase of the recruitment process.

    2. Online Video Interview and Writing Assessment: Candidates who possess the minimum qualifications will be invited to participate in an online video interview and writing assessment . In the assessment, candidates must achieve an average passing score of 70% or higher on each of the competencies, as well as an overall passing score of 70% or higher. The assessment will measure candidates' competencies as they relate to the Planner and Evaluator - Level A classification. These may include but are not limited to Attention to Detail, Writing, Critical Thinking, Valuing Diversity, Self-Management, Establishing Credibility, and Adaptability. (Weighted 100%)

    The Planner and Evaluator - Level A online assessment is tentatively scheduled to take place via computer (remotely) from December 3, 2024 - December 8, 2024.

    The video and written assessment will be administered remotely using a computer or mobile device such as a tablet. You will need access to a reliable internet connection to take the assessment, as well as a computer or mobile device with a camera. It is not recommended to take the assessment using a cell phone due to the writing component.

    The Human Resources Department may change the examination steps noted above in accordance with the Personnel Management Regulations and accepted selection practices.

    CONVICTION HISTORY

    DISASTER SERVICE WORKER
    All Contra Costa County employees are designated Disaster Service Workers through state and local law. Employment with the County requires the affirmation of a loyalty oath to this effect. Employees are required to complete all Disaster Service Worker-related training as assigned and to return to work as ordered in the event of an emergency.
