    General Description and Classification Standards

    The Scheduler shall be skilled at preparing and analyzing summary level and detailed project and/or program schedules including understanding of activities performed at various phases of project completion including design development, detailed design, bidding, bid review and award, and construction.

    Candidate shall be capable of working with key stakeholder groups to gain an understanding of project requirements needed to prepare and / or review detailed schedules. Candidate may develop and / or analyze schedules to be used as a baseline to measure progress and may prepare and / or analyze project schedule updates in relation to baseline schedule. Candidate shall be knowledgeable of schedule impacts of various project delivery methods for design and construction of municipal infrastructure projects including design-bid-build, design-build, CMAR, accelerated construction, etc. Candidates will be expected to meet all required deadlines for the project. Must have strong communication skills written and verbal.

    Supervision Received

    Candidate will work under the direction of the Program Controls Director and be able to work in a team environment to support project staff providing sequence, duration, and general logic for project schedules utilizing Primavera P6 to be updated monthly.

    Essential Capabilities & Work Environment
    • Creates, monitors, and analyzes project schedules in accordance with standard of best project practice.
    • Tracks, analyzes, and reports information appropriately to allow the project teams to manage their projects and evaluate reports.
    • Ensures accuracy of project schedules and performed version control.
    • Co-ordinates project schedules, tasks, meeting updates, and efficient distribution of reports.
    • Monitors scopes of work using Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) for control and integrity.
    • Monitors projects’ progress, including identifying critical activities and reviewing forecasts and progress achieved to date.
    • Maintains project risk register to ensure that risks are effectively managed to minimize their impact on schedule, scope, and budget of projects.
    • Tracks baselines, perform what-if analysis, and develop contingency plans
    • Develops conceptual models for Business Capability traceability matrix to explain processes to all levels of users.
    • Performs coordination of cross-functional departments to identify project issues, monitor action items, and work with the project manager to ensure resolution.
    • Performs other duties as assigned


    Minimum Qualifications - Education & Experience
    Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Construction technology, (Additional years of experience or equivalent combination of technical training may substitute for the required degree). Minimum 3 years’ experience in construction scheduling for infrastructure projects. Must be detail oriented with exceptional time management and organizational skills.

    Licensures and Certifications
    PSP, Nationally Accredited certification, or ability to obtain certification within time periods specified by accreditation agency is a Plus. Proficient with scheduling software including Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project, with demonstrated ability to cash load and man-hour load schedules.
