Introduction Come join the fun, flexible and impactful Scottsdale Human Services team and serve as the next senior center manager at Granite Reef Senior Center located at 1700 N Granite Reef Rd! This is an important and exciting leadership position that will serve Scottsdale's aging population.
Anticipated starting salary for this position may be up to mid-point depending on candidate's experience and internal equity. The full salary range is listed above and mid-point for this position is $112,528 annually. Minimum Qualifications Education and Experience- A Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Business Administration, Social Sciences or related field from an accredited education institution.
- Preferred: A Master's Degree in Social Work or Business Administration or related field.
- Five years of increasingly responsible experience in human services (social services) or recreation related field required.
- Any equivalent combination of education and/or job-related experience that meets the minimum qualifications may be substituted.
Licensing, Credentials and Other Requirements- Every person employed by the City of Scottsdale shall reside in the State of Arizona during his or her active employment by the City, regardless of whether the employee is approved to remote work.
Essential Functions Performs duties and responsibilities commensurate with assigned functional area which may include, but are not limited to, any combination of the following:
- Supervises employees and coordinates personnel-related activities to include, but not limited to: training, approving work schedules, recommending/approving personnel actions, coaching and counseling, establishing performance goals, and writing performance evaluations.
- Serves as a representative and presents at local and regional meetings/seminars.
- Negotiates with outside sources for additional grant funding, prepares social services grant applications, monitors and oversees grant implementation and maintains relationships with funding bodies.
- Prepares and presents City Council Reports, prepares council communications, coordinates various city related processes and provides oral and written reports to Human Services Commission.
- Prepares and monitors budget.
- Analyzes data to determine community needs.
- Provides guidance to staff in counseling and crisis intervention.
Work Environment/Physical Demands - Lift and carry office materials, food boxes, donated items, tables and chairs weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Operate a variety of standard office equipment including a computer, telephone, calculator, copy and fax machines requiring continuous and repetitive arm, hand and eye movement.
- Travel to/from meetings and various locations.
- Work evening and weekend hours as needed.
