    What You'll Be Doing

    Part Time Library Assistant Opportunity at
    Express Library Fayetteville Street


    Are you a people person who loves working with the public and providing great customer service? Wake County Public Libraries is looking for a part-time Library Assistant to work downtown at the Express Library on Fayetteville (affectionately known as ELF), located on the first floor of the Waverly F. Akins Office Building. The library needs someone to work weekdays.

    Library Assistants at the Express Library spend the majority of their time working the service desk to help patrons find great books to read, find information, provide computer assistance, create attractive book displays, and assist with the occasional library program. ">

    The Basics (Required Education and Experience)

    • Associate's degree
    • No specific experience required
    • Equivalent education and experience are accepted
    • Please include ALL prior work experience on your application and resume.


    Beyond the Basics (Preferred Education and Experience)

    • Public Library experience working on a service desk
    • Customer Service or Bookstore experience
    • Experience working directly with children, for some locations
    • For some locations, Spanish-language skills desired

    Emergency Service Worker Statement
