This is an on-call position - hours will vary depending on weather events. The hourly rate is dependent on area of operation and seasons plowing, with an additional $1 hour for night work (7 p.m. - 7 a.m.). Job Location(s) : Southeast District (Sikeston or surrounding area)
EMERGENCY WAGE RATES: - 1st Season - $22.69
- 2nd-3rd Season - $23.87
- 4th Season - $25.13
Why you’ll love this position: The emergency maintenance equipment operator performs routine, entry-level duties related to snow removal operations. Responsibilities are performed under direct supervision. This is a temporary on-call position.
Operates vehicles to plow snow and spread ice control materials or to warn oncoming traffic. Cleans and performs routine maintenance on vehicles, equipment, buildings and grounds. Performs other responsibilities as required or assigned.
Minimum Qualifications - At least 18 years of age
- Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A or B with no air brake restrictions and interstate status (either Excepted Interstate [EI] or Non-Excepted Interstate [NI])). Registration in the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration's Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse.
- Successful completion of a criminal name-background check and drug screen.
Special Working Conditions: - Job may require overtime and nighttime work.
- Job requires outdoor work that involves exposure to physical hazards, health and safety risks, and/or adverse or otherwise undesirable characteristics in the environment, including risk of physical injury from carrying out duties in heavy traffic areas, on or near heavy equipment or machinery, and with hazardous chemicals or materials.
