Project Coordinator to implement the Ad ministrative Disqualification hearing system and to support the annual seasonal projects- Warmth for Wake, Cool for Wake, and Holiday Cheer. The successful candidate can move smoothly between a self-led project and support to projects led by others. Essential functions include the following:
- Timely scheduling and completion of all disqualification hearings (as Hearing Officer)
- Timely completion and distribution of hearing decisions and related documentation
- Customer and logistical support to seasonal projects

Our mission, in partnership with the community, is to facilitate full access to high quality and effective health and human services for Wake County residents. The Consumer Experience Management team works to improve the customer experience for HHS clients. The unit assists customers with service concerns, ensures compliance with clients’ rights practices and provides seasonal supports to needy families. This position ensures the clients’ right to a local hearing for proposed disqualifications from public assistance.
The Basics (Required Education and Experience) - Bachelor's degree
- One year of job-related experience
- Equivalent education and experience are accepted

Beyond the Basics (Preferred Education and Experience) - Bachelor's Degree in HHS field
- At least one year of experience in administrative hearing processes (DSS local appeals or disqualification hearings) or as a mediator
- Experience working in a Health and Human Services setting
- Spanish language skills

- Knowledge of the Disqualification Hearing process or similar extra-legal processes
- The ability to manage hearings in person or virtually
- The ability to apply critical thinking skills to written evidence and verbal testimony
- Able to compose clear, concise, and detailed written decisions
