    Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)

    2041 E. Hunter Street, Nevada, MO 64772

    Salary: Approximately $60,347.46 annually, plus a 9% shift differential (Pay Grade N1)

    Southwest Community Services has an opening for a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in the Nursing Department. The working hours are 2:45 p.m. to 11:15 p.m., Tuesday through Saturday.

    Responsibilities:

    This is a licensed practical nurse (LPN) position accountable for administering medication and other prescribed treatments; taking vital signs; assisting with care plan activities; observing and reporting patient conditions and behaviors; and participating in rehabilitation, ambulation, and transfers. LPN’s oversee the delegation of work to the direct support professional; communicate with doctors, patients, and families; and educate patients on care. May transport clients to offsite appointments and apply restraints when necessary.

    Required knowledge, skills, and abilities:

    Knowledge of current nursing theory, practices, and techniques.

    Skills in applying practical nursing principles with physical, mental, and intellectual disabilities.

    Ability to establish and maintain working relationships with co-workers and the public.

    Ability to complete assignments within specified timeframes.

    Ability to develop and implement procedures from general instructions.

    Ability to work weekends, holidays, and/or requires overtime.

    Ability to fulfill on-call responsibility on a 9 week rotation.

    Eligibility:
