As a Case Manager in the Welfare-to-Work program, you will assess participants' readiness for employment and identify any barriers they may face. You will work with participants to create personalized plans that help them overcome these obstacles, develop their skills, and achieve self-sufficiency. In collaboration with the Welfare-to-Work unit, you will develop strategies to enhance participant engagement and involvement in the program. Your role will also involve participating in job fairs and partnering with other agencies to better support your participants.
At the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS), we work a 37.5-hour full-time work week, with the option of a flexible schedule and the possibility of working remotely 1-2 days a week, depending on the position and the completion of a one-year probationary period. Qualifications Experience and Training Guidelines -any combination of experience and training that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be:
Experience: Four years’ experience working with the client population in either mental health or social services.
Training: Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade supplemented by specialized training in mental health or social services.
License or Certificate: Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid driver’s license.
Supplemental InformationThe salary range above consists of 15 steps. Steps 1-6 are annual merit steps with approximately 5% difference between each step, based on successful performance. Steps 7-15 are additional merit steps, requiring 2 years of satisfactory performance at the previous step. Steps 7-14 provide 2.5% increases, while Step 15 offers a 5% increase. The final salary offered will depend on the applicant's experience and qualifications, ranging from steps 1 to 15.
