    Description

    The Assistant Program Coordinator provides professional and technical public health support. This position coordinates with internal and external stakeholders throughout the local public health system to carry out essential public health services.

    Examples of Duties

    • Regular and punctual attendance is required.
    • Manages working relationships with local medical providers' offices participating in the TVFC/ASN programs.
    • Conducts orientation for new TVFC/ASN providers, including training staff on policies and procedures, inspecting vaccine storage, and evaluating provider readiness.
    • Conducts monthly assessment and approval of all county TVFC/ASN provider temperature logs, vaccine inventory, reporting, and orders.
    • Communicates program updates, provides ongoing training (in-person and virtually), and conducts unannounced site visits of providers' offices to ensure adherence to TVFC/ASN program policies.
    • Completes quality improvement activities with TVFC/ASN providers to improve vaccination coverage rates.
    • Completes necessary pickups and transfers of vaccine stock to and from providers' offices to minimize vaccine wastage.
    • Maintains adequate DCPH clinic vaccine stock, including reporting monthly doses administered, conducting physical inventory, and completing all other required reports.
    • Participates in state site visits and contract visits at DCPH clinics.
    • Implements immunization projects from the state as assigned.
    • Increases the use of ImmTrac by conducting outreach to organizations new to ImmTrac, organizations with expired ImmTrac Site Agreements, under-reporting organizations, and inactive organizations.
    • Performs outreach to young adults to provide awareness of state adult consent requirements and the benefits of ImmTrac as a lifetime registry.
    • Provides training and technical assistance to public health staff utilizing ImmTrac.
    • Performs clinic immunization data entry in electronic medical record system and ImmTrac.
    • Conducts childcare and school audits and provides training on state record-keeping requirements.
    • Informs and educates the general public, medical providers, school and childcare personnel, community partners, and DCPH staff on the importance of vaccination, TVFC and ASN programs, ImmTrac, and other vaccine-related topics.
    • Participates in all state webinars, meetings, and off-site training as assigned.
    • Performs other related duties as required.


    Minimum Qualifications

    High School Diploma or GED, completion of some college course work, and a minimum one year of experience in a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and related experience required.
