    Job Location: This position will be located at: 1110 East 7 th Suite 200, Joplin, MO 64801 with consideration given to surrounding areas based on chosen applicant's location.

    • Assist Social Services Unit Supervisor with onboarding and training of new staff in both HCBS policy and field training.
    • Assist Social Services Unit Supervisor with completing case record reviews for team members in training.
    • Provide technical assistance with HCBS Programs and Systems to Social Services Specialists/Field Assessors.
    • Serve as liaison between Quality Improvement and Quality Assurance Unit staff and respective team to champion division quality initiatives and communicate feedback to each team member in a meaningful way.
    • Maintain an assigned workload of assessments, with work being reduced approximately 25% to meet the training and quality development needs of the team.
    • Provide feedback on draft policies to division management, as requested.
    • Assist the Social Service Specialist/Field Assessor to identify and address unmet needs of participants and refer to appropriate community resources.
    • Provide presentations to community organizations, providers, and the public regarding the services and policies of DSDS.
    • Assist the Social Service Specialist/Field Assessor with the appeals and hearings process.
    • Other duties as assigned.


    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Two or more years of experience as a Social Services Specialist; or
    • A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university; and Four or more years of professional or technical experience providing social services or conducting investigations or audits of social service providers, recipients and/or applicants.
    • Preference for team lead positions will be given to current members of the respective teams. Applicants applying for a team lead position outside of their current team will be required to have an office location within that team’s service area and the ability to travel throughout that service area.
