- Verify whether the processes and programs established by the department conform to corrections best and evidence-based practices and are following any state, national, or international regulations or standards.
- Provide technical assistance to the divisions of the department and work with section colleagues to develop and implement short and long-term tactical quality assurance and process oversight plans.
- Plan, coordinate, develop, and monitor quality systems along with any initiatives, and processes necessary to ensure the quality and reliability of products and services provided by the Department, including but not limited to:
- directing data collection,
- selecting or developing programs and/or operations evaluation tools,
- analysis of division-level data using industry appropriate methodologies,
- develop data visualizations to assist managers and leadership monitor activity and outcomes of key initiatives.
- Provide support for new and existing initiatives including program development, measurement of implementation progress, and customer satisfaction.
- Direct development of summary statistics, analysis, and reports that provide operational feedback for division quality control activities.
- Serve as the Tableau administrator for the department.
- Exercise independent judgment and initiative in performance of responsibilities; receive general administrative direction and feedback on conformance of projects and products to broad agency objectives and policies.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications: Six or more years of professional level experience, relevant/similar to the above listed job duties.
(Earned credit hours from an accredited college or university may substitute for up to four years of the required experience, at a rate of 30 credit hours for one year - a minimum of two years of experience is required)
Preferred Qualifications/Skills: Working knowledge of quality management systems principles (e.g., QMS, ISO9000, ISO1400, or TQM), Lean or Six Sigma Yellow, Green, or Black belt, Correctional Program Checklist trained, Tableau Creator experience, Tableau Administrator experience, Experience with statistical methods used for program evaluation.
All requested documents MUST be received by the closing date listed. Some positions are eligible for a shift differential of $173.34 semi-monthly, which is provided to employees with shifts that begin on or between 12:00pm (noon) and 5:00am, and who work at a 24/7 worksite (i.e. institution, transition center, supervision center, or command center), or whose work requires regular visits to these locations. If selected for interview, eligibility may be discussed at that time with the hiring manager.
The Department of Corrections is the only State agency that currently offers a guaranteed 1% pay increase for every two years of service up to 20 years.
