Several full-time positions available with the Aviation Department, Field Maintenance Division located at 154 Tokyo St.
Salary Range: $22.61-$34.48/hour
Normal Work Days/Hours: Monday-Friday, 7:00 a.m.-3:30 p.m., mandatory overtime during inclement weather and emergencies.

Responsibilities
Responsible for transporting and operating a wide range of landscaping equipment to perform a variety of semiskilled and skilled landscaping and turf maintenance duties in the development, maintenance, and repair of landscaped areas around the airport.
Builds and repairs concrete and asphalt streets, sidewalks, parking lots, airfield aprons, taxiways, and runways.
Operates mowing equipment including zero turn mowers, large commercial tractors, large format mowers.
Operates small engine equipment including string trimmers, leaf blowers, and augers.
Removes trash from streets, parking lots, and turf areas.
Operates a variety of motorized equipment from small to large pieces, highway style paint truck, riding painting equipment, rubber removal equipment, and street sweeper.
Maintains, produces, and repair street signs around the airport property.
Responsible for mowing street side and airfield side landscaping turf.
Operates heavy equipment including backhoes, skid loaders, forklifts, and other mechanical equipment.
Operates two-way radios to communicate with FAA tower and coworkers.
Operates and maintain snow removal equipment for operations on the airfield.
Must be available day or night during snow season for emergency snow removal events.
Duties are primarily outdoors that are performed in all types of weather, night or day on either the street or air side of the airport.
Qualifications
REQUIRES 2 years of experience as a skilled worker in building and mechanical repair work in a relevant trade (HVAC, boilers, hydraulics, pumps and motors etc.). An additional related technical education certificate or diploma may be substituted for one year experience. May be required to obtain a valid MO Class A, B, or C CDL prior to the end of the probationary period as determined by the department. Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and post-offer physical examination as prescribed by the City. Must possess a valid State-issed driver's license in accordance with the City of KCMO policies.

Unless otherwise specified, an accredited degree must be obtained from a college or university listed with the U.S. Department of Education and recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education.
For positions with a salary grade of EX6 or higher that require an accredited degree, qualifying professional experience must be obtained AFTER the accredited degree is obtained.
Successful completion of a pre-employment criminal history/background check is required for all positions. Some positions require a post offer drug screen and/or physical.
If appointed, non-residents must obtain residency inside Kansas City, Missouri's city limits within nine months.
