    The Position

    Grants & Projects Analysts develop and implement and/or assess, monitor, control and review grant-in-aid projects/programs administered by State agencies and provide assistance to recipients in evaluating program effectiveness.

    Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform work independently with little or no additional training.

    The Division of Public and Behavioral Health: Bureau of Child, Family, and Community Wellness (BCFCW), within the Chronic Disease Prevention & Health Promotion (CDPHP) Section, is actively seeking candidates for a Grants & Projects Analyst 1 (underfill for Grants & Projects Analyst 2) based in Carson City, NV. This position offers training opportunities for developing skills in the financial management of multiple federally funded Chronic Disease Programs. Candidates should possess a foundational fiscal background and an understanding of accounts receivable and payable, along with the ability to work effectively under guidance. As part of their professional development, successful candidates will receive mentorship and collaboration opportunities with team members and stakeholders across various departments. This includes working closely with program managers, financial analysts, and project coordinators to learn how to integrate financial operations seamlessly with program goals. Developing the ability to communicate financial insights and analyses to non-financial team members is essential, fostering a collaborative work environment where information exchange and collective solution-building are emphasized.     To Qualify:

    In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
    Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications) Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in public or business administration, accounting, finance or related field and one year of professional grants experience which includes at least two of the following areas: writing grant applications; determining grant/subgrant program eligibility; researching, writing and implementing grant program plans; managing fiscal aspects of grants/subgrants; providing technical assistance to grant/subgrant recipients; and/or monitoring and ensuring grant/subgrant recipient compliance; OR graduation from high school or equivalent education and three years of professional grants experience which includes at least two of the following areas as described above OR one year of experience as a Grants & Projects Analyst Trainee in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above. In contrast, the State's lowest point (along the Colorado River) is only 470 feet above sea level. From majestic mountains to desert valleys, nature has endowed Nevada with diverse and unique ecosystems.
