Please note: Due to this position being part-time, the classification is unclassified, meaning it is at-will and serves at the discretion of the City. These positions have limited benefits. Anticipated starting salary for this position may be up to mid-point depending on candidate's experience and internal equity. The full salary range is listed above and mid-point for this position is $26.02/hour. Minimum Qualifications Education and Experience- High School diploma or General Educational Development (GED) equivalent.
- One year of experience in administrative support that includes direct customer service experience involving public contact.
- Any equivalent combination of education and/or job-related experience that meets the minimum qualifications may be substituted.
Licensing, Certifications and Other Requirements- Every person employed by the City of Scottsdale shall reside in the State of Arizona during his or her active employment by the City, regardless of whether the employee is approved to remote work.
Other pertinent licenses and/or certifications may be required for some positions depending on department/section assignment.
Essential Functions Performs duties and responsibilities commensurate with assigned functional area which may include, but are not limited to, any combination of the following:
- Addresses and resolves citizen inquiries and issues pertaining to city services, policies, and procedures efficiently, including handling public and customer service calls.
- Responds to situations requiring knowledge of City ordinances and policies.
- Performs a wide variety of administrative and customer service work including but not limited to requests for: information, problem analysis, complaint resolution, driving directions, and the general delivery and explanation of City services to both internal and external customers.
- Uses a wide variety of computer programs and operates an assortment of other office equipment including multiple-line telephones, two-way radios, paging systems, copies and fax machines.
- Performs data entry by completing work orders online for city services in all departments.
- Retrieves, inputs, and monitors customer data and history by accessing numerous computer screens.
- Supports directors, managers and other staff with presentations, spreadsheets, reports and graphics using intermediate computer skills.
- Corresponds with internal and external stakeholders both in writing and verbally.
