Job Summary Processes requisitions and assists customers at the the parts counter. Places orders, receives inventory, and tracks inventory including parts and equipment for the fleet/facility. Confers with mechanics, technicians, and vendors regarding parts information and availability. Performs inventory control and warehousing activities involving manual labor and clerical duties. Assembles hydraulic hoses. Performs other duties as assigned.
Note: The distinction between Level I and Level II in this series is that Level I employees work under close supervision and handle routine work of limited complexity until they gain sufficient knowledge and experience to work under general supervision.
Minimum Qualifications:
Parts Specialist I: High School Diploma/G.E.D. Certificate and six (6) months of experience/training in automotive work, service consulting, parts counter work, warehousing, or other area that demonstrates the ability to perform the Parts Specialist I job successfully; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Valid Florida Driver's License required.
Parts Specialist II: High School Diploma/G.E.D. Certificate and two (2) years of experience as an automobile or truck parts specialist or service consultant; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Valid Florida Driver's License required.
Additional Qualifications for Promotion:
Promotions are not to be considered an automatic function of longevity and are subject to the review and authorization of the Supervisor. The employee’s last performance review must have resulted in an overall rating of Meets standards or better with no factor rating of less than meets.

If this posting indicates a degree is required, the following experience will apply in lieu of any degree as follows:
- Two (2) years of direct experience for an associate degree;
- Four (4) years of direct experience for a bachelor's degree;
- Six (6) years of direct experience for a master's degree; or
- Nine (9) years of direct experience for a doctoral degree.
