    Job Description

    The Curriculum Coordinator is responsible for coordinating the details of multiple projects, including course certification projects related to the Homeland Security National Training Program Cooperative Agreement and other external projects. Coordinates and publishes internal procedures, coordinates course certification projects, prepares and manages timelines, milestones, budgets, and recertification processes, coordinates and tracks external partnership performance progress, and coordinates the collection, use, and reporting of course evaluation data. Participates in the submission of progress reports and proposals to DHS/FEMA, coordinating the input from multiple divisions. Serves as the point of contact for curriculum development and evaluation projects and supports the processing and reporting of data for DHS/FEMA projects.

    This position reports to the Director of Training Support.

    Required Qualifications:
    • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
    • Five years of related experience in curriculum development.


    Required Licenses/Certifications:
    • Must have a valid motor vehicle operator’s license or ability to obtain within 30 days of employment.


    Preferred Qualifications:
    • One year of experience in managing curriculum development projects.
    • Three years of experience in general project and/or training coordination.
    • Experience with grant/contract support.

    • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
    • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
    • Knowledge of BLOOMS, instructional design models, adult learning principles, and accessibility.
    • Strong communication skills.
    • Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
    • Competent in leveraging the use of project development and tracking systems.
    • Ability to work with sensitive information and maintain confidentiality.

    Notifications:

    • This position may require work beyond normal office hours and/or work on weekends.
    • This position requires compliance with state and federal laws/codes and Texas A&M University System/TEEX regulations and procedures.
    • All tasks and job responsibilities must be performed safely without injury to self or others in compliance with System and Agency safety requirements.
    • As part of TEEX’s mission of providing training, developing practical solutions, and saving lives; this position could be required, if called upon, to deploy within the State of Texas as directed by this position’s Division Director/HQ Department Head.
    • Ability to travel independently to other and/or remote locations by driving a personal or TEEX vehicle and/or flying on commercial airlines.
    • This position is funded from grant and/or contract funding, which is renewed through provisions of the grantor of the contract. Therefore, this position is contingent upon continuation of funding from these grants and/or contracts, as well as satisfactory job performance.


    Essential Duties, Tasks, and Percentages:

    HSNTP Cooperative Agreement Project Support - 60%
    • Promotes effective risk management, operational efficiency, and compliance with the Homeland Security National Training Program (HSNTP) Cooperative Agreement.
    • Leads the curriculum development and design process for active curriculum development projects as the primary point of contact for NERRTC curriculum development.
    • Coordinates the submission of course materials to the DHS/FEMA sponsor for SME and accessibility reviews and DHS/FEMA certification.
    • Coordinates program sponsor course review activities as part of the curriculum development process.
    • Conducts focused reviews of curriculum materials received and recommends revisions or changes in scope, format, and content to ensure standardization.
    • Coordinates procedures for the certification of DHS/FEMA sponsored courses to effectively track project timelines, progress, deliverables, and expenditures, ensuring sound fiscal and quality control.
    • Coordinates and consolidates curriculum development and evaluation input in support of related progress reports and proposals to DHS/FEMA.
    • Ensures the timely preparation and distribution of curriculum development performance, financial and evaluation reports on a monthly and ad hoc basis.
    • Coordinates the collection, verification and reporting of development and evaluation data to the appropriate federal and state agencies.
    • Provides feedback on development and evaluation performance to support divisions and coordinate the development of appropriate courses of action to resolve performance issues.
    • Assists in the development and implementation of long-range course certification planning and tracking for the DHS/FEMA HSNTP courses.


    HSNTP Performance Data Monitoring and Reporting - 30%
    • Monitors DHS/FEMA HSNTP course materials to ensure compliance with established curriculum quality assurance programs, DHS/FEMA HSNTP certification quality standards, federal accessibility requirements, use of required templates, and appropriate use of logos.
    • Monitors results of all levels of program evaluation, to include Kirkpatrick's levels 1-3, for quality assurance, areas of concern or results for use in reporting and outreach efforts.
    • Monitors and reports curriculum development milestone and financial performance of both TEEX divisions and external NERRTC partners on a monthly and ad hoc basis.
    • Assists in the preparation and upload of participant, delivery, evaluation, and schedule data to the DHS/FEMA Registration and Evaluation System (RES).


    Additional Program/Division responsibilities - 10%
    • Performs additional work duties as assigned.
    • Assists with meetings at divisions as needed.
    • Maintains and safeguards assigned divisional equipment and property.
