    The Position

    Management Analysts conduct a variety of studies, research and analysis of management and administrative areas such as budgeting and financial analysis; departmental operations; legislative analysis; management research; and statistical and informational analysis.

    The Division of Health Care Financing and Policy (DHCFP) is seeking qualified candidates for two Management Analyst III positions. These roles offer opportunities to make a significant impact within the Behavioral Health Benefits Coverage Unit and the Medical & Dental Benefits Coverage Unit. Within the Behavioral Health Benefits Coverage Unit, the incumbent will oversee the development and implementation of a health home model for individuals with fetal alcohol spectrum disorder. Key responsibilities include analyzing data related to the new program and evaluating comparable service utilization to enhance treatment outcomes, assessing the program's functionality to inform current and future policy decisions, participating in the budget process, utilization tracking and service forecasting, assisting policy staff with interpreting claims data and presenting findings to stakeholders, supervising team members, and contributing to other projects as needed.

    Within the Medical & Dental Benefits Coverage Unit, the incumbent will manage data and policies for programs including Federally Qualified Health Centers, physician services, hospital services, radiology, laboratory services, and other programs. Key responsibilities include compiling and analyzing data related to current programs to support effective service delivery; evaluating program functionality to inform future policy and program enhancements; participating in budget planning, utilization tracking, and service forecasting; assisting policy staff with claims utilization interpretation and presenting insights to stakeholders; supervising team members; and contributing to other projects as needed.     To Qualify:

    In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
    Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications) Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in public or business administration, finance, social sciences, mathematics or related field and three years of professional experience in the research, development, evaluation or revision of programs, organizations, methods or procedures; OR Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in public or business administration, finance, social sciences, mathematics or related field and three years of professional experience which included budgeting, accounting, and/or economic or management analysis and projections; OR graduation from high school or equivalent education and five years of professional experience as described above; OR one year of experience as a Management Analyst II in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above. Special Requirements This position requires a State of Nevada/FBI fingerprint-based background check as a condition of appointment and as condition of continuing employment. The Examination Application Evaluation Exam The exam will consist of an application evaluation.     Today, Nevada is the nation's seventh largest state in land area. Several hundred mountain ranges cross its landscape, many with elevations over 10,000 feet. In contrast, the State's lowest point (along the Colorado River) is only 470 feet above sea level. From majestic mountains to desert valleys, nature has endowed Nevada with diverse and unique ecosystems.
