Full-time position available with the Conventions & Entertainment Facilities Department, Facility Maintenance Division located at 301 West 13th Street
Salary Range: $29.98-$44.97/hour
Normal Work Days/Hours: Wednesday-Saturday, 2:00 p.m.-12:30 a.m.

Responsibilities
- Assigns and supervises the work of subordinates.
- Conducts inspections estimate maintenance schedules and obtain parts for various building systems.
- Leads contractors into and around work areas throughout the facility at the Convention Center.
- Physically responds to immediate needs and manages a wide range of equipment and machinery.
- Supervises the maintenance and repair of flood pumping stations; conducts daily inspections and orders repairs when needed.
- Schedules and supervises the work of a moderate sized maintenance crew at a city water plant.
- Inspects water plant equipment for needed repairs.
- Repairs and overhauls water pumps, sludge pumps, chlorine machines, humidifiers, and other related equipment.
- Supervises and participates in the repair of electrical systems, light fixtures, and switches.
- Supervises the installation of electric motors.
- Plans and oversees the work of a maintenance crew at the municipal airport.
- Performs building, runway, and electrical repairs, as well as general janitorial duties.
- Supervises snow removal activities and operates the necessary snow removal and related equipment.
- Supervises the work of several subordinate workers in maintenance of convention facilities and the municipal auditorium power plant including boilers and air conditioning units.
- Plans, supervises, and participates in event and facility equipment movement and maintenance of moveable walls, retractable risers, fencing, basketball courts and lighting requests.
- Performs related duties as required.
Qualifications
REQUIRES high school graduation and 5 years experience in mechanical and trades maintenance and repair with 1 year experience at the level of Maintenance Mechanic. Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and post-offer physical examination as prescribed by the City.

For positions with a salary grade of EX6 or higher that require an accredited degree, qualifying professional experience must be obtained AFTER the accredited degree is obtained.
Successful completion of a pre-employment criminal history/background check is required for all positions. Some positions require a post offer drug screen and/or physical.
If appointed, non-residents must obtain residency inside Kansas City, Missouri's city limits within nine months.
