The City of Henderson announces an examination to create a consideration for hire list and to fill one (1) vacancy for the classification of Human Resources Assistant (Part-Time) in the Department of Human Resources. The list may be utilized to fill vacancies for this classification for up to one (1) year.
Under general supervision, performs administrative support in one or more functional areas of Human Resources; provides customer service and assistance to City employees and the general public; and performs related duties as assigned.
General Position Information: - This is a part-time non-PERS eligible position.
- Candidates will, on average, work no more than 19 hours/week.
- This position does not qualify for employer-paid benefits (medical, dental, or vision), or paid time off.
Current Vacancy Information: This recruitment, and the list established from it, will solely be used to fill vacancies at the Human Resources front desk. In this position, candidates will be expected to complete the following tasks:
- Perform general front desk/receptionist duties such as answering phones, completing written correspondence, and a high volume of face-to-face customer service-related duties.
- Provide internal administrative support to the Human Resources Department such as purchasing, record filing, and document verification.

Minimum Qualifications- Graduation from high school or equivalent
- One (1) year of office administrative/customer service experience in a Human Resources, or similar, environment
- Note: An equivalent combination of related training and experience may be considered
- Proficiency in keyboarding sufficient to type 35 net words per minute
- Must pass a nationwide fingerprint-based record check, and a wants/warrants check
- Must complete Security Awareness and National Crime Information Center (NCIC)/Nevada Criminal Justice Information System (NCJIS) certification within six months of hire/transfer and be recertified every two years. Must maintain certifications in NCIC/NCJIS as a condition of continued employment

*Candidates will have seven (7) days to complete the assessment online. If a candidate does not have access to a reliable computer with a web camera, they must contact Human Resources before the closing of the assessment and request an in-person testing time. Candidates who do not complete the assessment within the established timelines will be automatically removed from the recruitment process. Re-tests are not allowed.
