    Full-time position available with the Water Department, Wastewater Treatment located at 7300 Hawthorne
    Salary Range: $6,489-$9,734/month
    Normal Work Days/Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.

    Qualifications

    REQUIRES 2 years progressively responsible experience as a Registered Engineer. Within six (6) months of hire date, must be registered as a Professional Engineer with Missouri Board for Architects, Professional Engineers, Professional Land Surveyors, and Professional Landscape Architects. Must pass a preemployment drug screen.


    Qualifications

    • Implements recommendations for technical improvements for components in the wastewater treatment system.
    • Develops scopes of work to procure estimates and make recommendations for treatment works solutions.
    • Manages projects to include overseeing contractor, design professional and contractors work including scheduling, expenditures and conformance to scopes of work, budget and schedule.
    • Coordinates work with other managers and staff.
    • Develops operational control change procedures for exceptions to usual and customary operation procedures.
    • Performs studies and evaluates options for treatment.
    • Performs engineering assessments of pumps, motors and other treatment system components for purchase and replacement.
    • Works with Engineering Divisions in providing supporting documentation and information to ensure continuity of operations during upgrades.
    • Performs other duties as assigned in support of Wastewater Treatment Division operations and maintenance activities.

    Positions requiring a high school diploma/GED certificate must be obtained from a school/program accredited by the Department of Education and recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education.

    The minimum education requirement for positions that allow for experience equivalency for an accredited degree is a high school diploma. Unless otherwise specified, an accredited degree must be obtained from a college or university listed with the U.S. Department of Education and recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education.
    For positions with a salary grade of EX6 or higher that require an accredited degree, qualifying professional experience must be obtained AFTER the accredited degree is obtained.
    Successful completion of a pre-employment criminal history/background check is required for all positions. Some positions require a post offer drug screen and/or physical.

    If appointed, non-residents must obtain residency inside Kansas City, Missouri's city limits within nine months.
