Job Summary Salary: $17.00/ hour Perform a variety of clerical work for the Office of Equity, which involves varied procedures or work methods, and permits reasonable initiative and independent judgment. Primary functions include routine records maintenance, which involves sorting, coding, filing; answering telephones, taking /relaying messages and/or routing calls; and performing related clerical tasks. May perform routine typing of forms, memos, labels etc. not requiring a skilled typist, and use of computer and word processor to enter or retrieve data. Manage scheduling and coordinating of meetings, researching, and drafting reports. Work is performed according to standard routines, but specific instructions are given on new assignments; work is reviewed while in progress, and upon completion for accuracy and adherence with office practices.
Minimum Qualifications: Associates degree with coursework in law, legal studies, public administration required or related field or equivalent plus one year of clerical/or secretarial experience required; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Must have some experience using Microsoft Office Suite.
THIS IS A PART_TIME_POSITION WITH NO GUARANTEE OF A CERTAIN NUMBER OF HOURS AND NO BENEFITS. THIS POSITION INVOLVES WORKING ON A TEMP/SEASONAL CONTRACT WHICH CAN BE RENEWED ANNUALLY BASED ON PERFORMANCE AND BUSINESS NEEED. If this posting indicates a degree is required, the following experience will apply in lieu of any degree as follows:
- Two (2) years of direct experience for an associate degree;
- Four (4) years of direct experience for a bachelor's degree;
- Six (6) years of direct experience for a master's degree; or
- Nine (9) years of direct experience for a doctoral degree.
