What you will do: - Conduct quasi-judicial hearings with interested parties and their counsel: place witnesses under oath, question witnesses to ascertain pertinent facts, see that hearings are properly recorded, admit or exclude evidence, and facilitate the cross-examination of witnesses.
- Prior to hearing, review the Division exhibits and documentation submitted by the parties and make necessary preparations to address the issues pertinent to the hearing.
- Prepare written decisions, or orders, applying pertinent provisions of the law and following established precedents.
- Study precedent decisions in similar cases as a guide for making decisions.
All you need for success:Qualifications - Juris Doctorate degree or a Bachelor's degree and 3 years of professional experience in the programs subject to the administrative hearings review (substitutions may be allowed).
Desired Attributes - Licensed to practice law in the State of Missouri.
- Prior participation in administrative hearings.
- Possess a familiarity with an unemployment insurance system.
- Knowledge of administrative procedures.
