Power System Graduate Engineer:Education and/or Equivalent Experience: - Graduation with a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in Engineering, plus three (3) years experience related to the job.
- Masters degree in engineering may substitute for experience up to two (2) years.
Licenses and Certifications Required:None.
Power System Engineer: Education and/or Equivalent Experience:- Graduation with a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in Engineering, plus five (5) years of experience related to engineering.

Austin Energy is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Power System Graduate Engineer or Power System Engineer to join our Transmission, Substation, and Distribution ( TSD ) team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring the reliability and power quality of our power systems by accessing, analyzing, and interpreting data from protection relays.
Your work will involve fault investigations, power quality (PQ) monitoring, and addressing PQ-related issues across our TSD systems. Additionally, you will be responsible for investigating and analyzing Electromagnetic Field ( EMF ) and Radio Frequency Interference ( RFI ) generated by high-voltage transmission or distribution systems.
This position also requires collaboration with our Corporate Compliance Program ( CCP ) and other work groups to ensure compliance with various utility regulatory requirements, including NERC , CIP , PRC , and ERCOT standards. Your technical expertise will be essential in developing written fault reports, conducting event analyses, creating procedures, and delivering technical presentations.
As part of the role, you will participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation, providing critical support for our power systems.

TRAVEL : - If you are selected for this position, and meet the Driver Safety Standards in the City of Austin Driver Safety Program, you may drive when necessary to multiple locations as part of your regular job duties. Otherwise, you are responsible for getting to and from these locations.
