Job Summary/ Objective:This position will work 14 hours a week, seven days a week, including holidays. This position will open and close the gates daily, will report any damages or hazards to the park to their supervisor.
Essential Functions:- Open park entrances at 7am
- Close park entrances at dark, which is one hour after sunset.
- Meets, greets, and assist the public with park questions and needs.
- Performs related tasks as required.
Competency: Knowledge/ Skills/Abilities: - Some knowledge of traffic laws and regulations.
- Some knowledge of the occupational hazards and necessary safety precautions involved in equipment operations.
- Ability to perform manual labor for extended periods occasionally under unfavorable weather conditions.
Required Education and Experience:- Some experience in the performance of manual labor.
- Must possess a valid Virginia driver’s license.
Physical and Mental Requirements: - Work frequently requires strenuous physical tasks, including bending, stooping, lifting and carrying items weighing 20-50 pounds, with occasional lifting of times weighing over 100 pounds.
- Work environment routinely exposes employee to potential major injuries and adverse weather, with occasional exposure to hazardous substances.
- Some contact with office personnel, other staff members, vendors and park users is required.

Remote Work:This position is not eligible for remote work. All County staff must maintain residence within the Commonwealth of Virginia.
