    The Position

    Casework Management Specialists within the Department of Health & Human Services, Division of Child & Family Services, provide case management services for children and their families and may be assigned to one of many specialized programs and/or facilities where duties may be performed in the home and/or any similar setting.

    This is the supervisory level in the series.

    DIVISION OF CHILD AND FAMILY SERVICES (DCFS) is recruiting for a Casework Management Specialist Supervisor for the Fernley office. Casework Management Specialist Supervisor (CMSS) is responsible for reviewing and approving the work of their staff. Work products they approve and create should be accurate, neat, well organized and thorough. CMSS must ensure staff are educated about and adhere to applicable IVE requirements and local court rules pertaining to court proceedings, including preparing accurate court reports and updates, being prepared to testify in court and follow through with court recommendations/orders. CMSS must act in accordance with statute, regulation, policy and procedure. Prepare and administer trainings on a wide variety of topics including, but not limited to child welfare practice model, UNITY, policy, procedure, statue and Administrative Code. Consult, coach and mentor staff of individual cases assigned to them. Provide weekly consultation /supervision to first year caseworkers and a minimum of biweekly supervision, if appropriate thereafter. Consistently and timely complete required UNITY windows. Ensure court reports are accurate, thorough and filed in compliance with local court rules. Alert appropriate person immediately upon receipt of court recommendations/order that the Division disagrees with or is unable to comply.     To Qualify:

    In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
    Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications) Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in early childhood education, special education, human growth and development, criminal justice, psychology, counseling, social work or closely related social/human services related field and four years of professional experience providing case management services specific to children in a health and/or human services setting, one year of which included supervising staff who provide case management services to children in a health and/or human services setting; OR one year of experience as a Casework Management Specialist 4 in Nevada State Service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience above the Bachelor's degree level as described above. Special Requirements Positions require a valid driver's license, or equivalent mobility, at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment. A pre-employment criminal history check and fingerprinting are required. Persons offered employment in this position will be required to pay for these items.
