The purpose of the
Maintenance Worker Leader position is to perform building construction, inspections, repairs, and maintenance to PARD facilities, including historical, administration, museums, recreation and community centers. Ensuring all facilities are maintained following the City of Austin codes, policies/procedures and the Americans with Disabilities Act standards.
Duties may include but are not limited to:
- CARPENTRY WORK : Repair walls, ceiling, floors, siding, furniture, cabinets, doors, trim, etc.
- HARDWARE : Maintenance and repair of door hardware, including door closers, locksets, deadbolts, panic bars, door stops, hinges, thresholds, kick plates, and weather stripping.
- DRYWALL WORK : Installation of, and tape, float, and texture of gypsum board and application of spray and roll textures.
- PAINTING : Application of latex and oil base paints, varnish, sealers, on walls, ceilings, and building exteriors.
- OPERATE POWER TOOLS : Drills, circular saws, routers, grinders, sanders, radial arm saws, table saws, pneumatic nail guns, etc.
- USE INDUSTRY TOOLS : Measure and layout using measuring tape, level, squares, string line, laser level, and transit.
- INSPECT : Building, structures, and record data on appropriate forms, logs, and iPads, desktop computers, etc.

- Driver Requirements: This position requires candidate to possess a valid Texas Class “C” driver license or the ability to acquire one by your hire date. $23.44 - $26.83 per hour

Duties, Functions and Responsibilities
Essential duties and functions, pursuant to the Americans with Disabilities Act, may include the following. Other related duties may be assigned.
Inspects buildings and equipment for needed repairs and maintenance. Repairs and replaces electric plugs and cords. Performs minor repairs to tables, chairs, desks, cabinets, etc. Performs semi-skilled carpentry work in the construction and repair of walls, ceilings, doors, etc. Installs and/or replace floor and ceramic tiles Drives vehicles as needed. Moves furniture, file cabinets, equipment, etc using hand dollies. Performs basic service on pumps, air handlers, cooling towers, etc repack, change oil and filters, lubricate, etc. Operates drills, buffers, grinders, sanders, etc. Operates various power saws, i.e., radial arm, skill, etc. Operates acetylene cutting torch, welder, etc. Performs simple plumbing installations and repairs i.e., install and repair faucets, unclog drains, replace valves, etc. Paints varnishes, and/or seal walls, ceilings, floors, furniture, equipment, etc using brushes, rollers, air sprayers, etc. Hammers nails and stakes. Installs door closers, kick plates, locks, etc. Measures using tapes, transits, levels, etc. Reads profiles and blueprints
