The Family Support Division, Rehabilitation Services for the Blind (RSB), is seeking applications for a Rehabilitation Associate. This position is located at 615 Howerton Court, Jefferson City, MO.
This is paraprofessional work assisting professional staff in the delivery of services to clients of the Family Support Division, Rehabilitation Services for the Blind. Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Maintain, with considerable independence, office processes and activities in accordance with agency policies and rules.
- Provide coverage for the RSB main phone line daily.
- Provide support to Assistant Deputy Director with authorizations, filing personnel files, Grievances, fair hearing, admin reviews, correspondence files, exception request ect.
- Receive and enter information for client referrals into case management system.
- Prepares routine correspondence; types and proofreads letters, dictation, and forms as required.
- Receive and submit all staff related travel request, training request and documentation.
- Provide and maintain time keeping duties and responsibilities.
- Update RSB personnel phone listing, receive and place staff business card orders as well as orders for office supplies such as brochure orders, post cards, etc.
- Performs other related work as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Knowledge of the nature of developmental, emotional, and/or physical disabilities and the rehabilitation needs of those affected. Knowledge of the principles of job analysis and work simplification as applied to those with vocational rehabilitation needs. Knowledge of production work processes and equipment used in the fabrication, assembly, and/or packaging of small articles. Knowledge of standard and adaptive office equipment. Ability to gain the confidence and cooperation of clients. Ability to train and motivate clients, staff, and workers.
1-3 or more years of office experience, above the entry level, in office management practices and procedures including keyboarding, frequent public contacts, processing invoices, or rehabilitation services.
(Earned credit hours from an accredited college or university including coursework in Psychology, Sociology, Social Work, Special Education, Business Administration, or Business Management may substitute on a year-for-year basis for the required experience at a rate of 30 earned credit hours for one year.)
