Performs responsible supervisory, administrative, and technical field inspection work enforcing national, state, and local codes governing the design, construction, operation and maintenance of sanitary sewer, reclaimed water and lift stations. Work involves coordinating and supervising the inspection of new and existing manholes, wet wells, gravity sewer mains, sewer force mains, reclaimed water mains, valves, valve vaults, wastewater pumps, control panels, emergency generators, fuel tanks, and appurtenances associated with sanitary sewer and reclaimed water system installations, and preventative maintenance programs and requires considerable knowledge of underground utility design, construction and lift station installation as well as in depth knowledge of all applicable standards, codes and ordinances. Exercises considerable initiative and independent judgment in the interpretation and application of standards and codes when making technical decisions. Work involves coordinating and supervising a team of Utility Construction Inspectors. Work is performed under general supervision according to established guidelines. Performance is reviewed through reports submitted, meetings, and results obtained for technical sufficiency and consistent application.
Minimum Qualifications:Associate's Degree in related field and five (5) or more years of experience in the assigned trade (i.e., electrical, mechanical, plumbing, building, fire, horizontal sitework, utilities, sanitary sewer, or reclaimed water) , one (1) year of which must have been in a supervisory capacity; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Valid Florida Driver's License required . Must be certified by the Administrators and Inspectors Board (BCAI) as a Building Inspector. Must pass background check which includes polygraph.

If this posting indicates a degree is required, the following experience will apply in lieu of any degree as follows:
- Two (2) years of direct experience for an associate degree;
- Four (4) years of direct experience for a bachelor's degree;
- Six (6) years of direct experience for a master's degree; or
- Nine (9) years of direct experience for a doctoral degree.
