Performs routine to complex professional level financial, accounting, budgetary, administrative, organizational, systems, and related analysis and reporting for hospital, departments and administration. Assists in the maintenance and creation of accounting records, operating reports, the verification and documentation of financial transactions, preparation of various analysis and financial and operating reporting.
Job RequirementEducation/Experience:Equivalent to a Bachelor’s Degree in accounting, finance or business administration or related field.
Licensing/Certification Requirements:None.
Additional and/or Preferred Position Requirements Applicants MUST have the following:
1. Must demonstrate advanced proficiency in Excel (Advanced Excel skills include the ability to produce graphs and tables, use spreadsheets efficiently, perform calculations and automation to process large volumes of data, create and manipulate pivot tables, and properly apply formulas).
2. Minimum of two (2) years of recent documented experience with:
a. Hospital Accounting; and/or
b. NV PERS reporting/auditing
*Up to one (1) year of required Hospital Accounting/NV PERS experience may be substituted with a minimum of one (1) year of any of the following:
a. SAP Payroll Processing and/or SAP Payroll Reporting
b. Kronos/UKG Dimensions
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Physical RequirementsKnowledge of:Principles and practices of hospital finance/accounting; generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP); fund or governmental accounting principles; auditing theories and principles; financial analysis and projection theories and techniques; budgeting theories and principles; government auditing standards; federal, state and county laws and regulations related to the health care agency; computer applications related to the work; Financial record keeping and bookkeeping practices and techniques; basic data sampling and statistical analysis techniques; computer applications related to duties; project management and analytical techniques.; department and hospital safety practices and procedures; patient rights; infection control policies and practices; department and hospital emergency response policies and procedures.
Skill in:Compiling and reviewing budget figures for completeness, accuracy and compliance with policies and procedures and compiling budget documents for distribution; interpreting, applying and explaining applicable laws, codes and regulations; preparing timely and accurate financial, budgeting and operational analyses; maintaining accurate financial, budgetary and cost control records and preparing accurate and timely reports; reconciling accounting records, reports and journals; preparing financial and/or auditor statements, schedules and reports; reviewing and verifying accuracy of data; analyzing complex financial information; maintaining accounting records for special accounts and projects; using computers to retrieve and manipulate financial data; working without close supervision in standard work situations; using office equipment such as copiers, phones, facsimiles and adding machines; communicating with a wide variety of people from diverse socio-economic and ethnic backgrounds; establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with all personnel contacted in the course of duties; efficient, effective and safe use of equipment.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:Mobility to work in a typical office setting and use standard office equipment, stamina to remain seated for extended periods of time, vision to read printed materials and a computer screen, and hearing and speech to communicate effectively in person and over the telephone. Strength and agility to exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
