Full-time position available with the Convention & Entertainment Facilities Department, Sales Division located at 301 West 13th Street
Salary Range: $24.77-$37.16/hour
Normal Work Days/Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.

Responsibilities
- Handles all sales activities from lead generation through the closing of the sale, tasked with maximizing sales profitability, and account growth.
- Handles new business development in all event categories.
- Contributes to increase sales, addresses customer needs, ensures positive client interaction, and provides site tours of all Convention and Entertainment Facilities venues.
- Possesses excellent communication abilities and negotiation skills.
- Highly motivated to overcome objections and possesses the ability to exceed quarterly and annual sales goals.
Qualifications
REQUIRES an accredited bachelor's degree in hospitality/event management, public relations, or marketing; OR an accredited bachelor's degree and one (1) year of experience in sales, marketing, supervising event operations, event coordination, logistics and/or arena/convention management; OR High school graduation and five (5) year's experience in sales, marketing, supervising event operations, event coordination, logistics and/or area/convention management. May be required to possess a valid state-issued driver's license in accordance with City of KCMO policies. May be required to pass a pre-employment drug screen as prescribed by the City.
Preference given to those with a minimum of three (3) years of hospitality and/or convention sales experience. Other Information

The minimum education requirement for positions that allow for experience equivalency for an accredited degree is a high school diploma. Unless otherwise specified, an accredited degree must be obtained from a college or university listed with the U.S. Department of Education and recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education.
For positions with a salary grade of EX6 or higher that require an accredited degree, qualifying professional experience must be obtained AFTER the accredited degree is obtained.
Successful completion of a pre-employment criminal history/background check is required for all positions. Some positions require a post offer drug screen and/or physical.
If appointed, non-residents must obtain residency inside Kansas City, Missouri's city limits within nine months.
