The JobSan Bernardino County Fleet Management is looking for a dedicated and experienced
Fleet Supervisor to lead a team of skilled technicians in optimizing performance and ensuring the safety of the fleet. The Fleet Supervisor will manage technicians and other staff in the maintenance, repair, modification, and fabrication of automobiles, trucks, and equipment powered by gasoline, diesel, and alternative fuel systems.
The resulting eligible list will be used to fill vacancies throughout the department.

ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT Fleet Management Department provides vehicles, equipment, and services to the officials and employees of the County so that they may, in turn, provide services that promote health, safety, well being, and quality of life to the residents of San Bernardino County. Fleet Management provides services for the majority of county vehicles and equipment. Services include the acquisition, maintenance, repair, modification, and disposal of vehicles and other related equipment. San Bernardino County Sheriff and Special Districts Departments are authorized to operate their respective fleets independent of Fleet Management. Fleet Management continuously strives to meet customers’ needs. CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT Pre-Employment Process: Incumbents must successfully complete a background check prior to appointment.
Shift: Incumbents may be required to work days, evenings, or night shifts, to meet departmental needs, as required by the Department. Applicants must indicate availability to work rotating shifts including weekends, holidays, and nights on the application.
License: At the time of hire, a valid California Class C driver license and proof of automobile liability insurance must be provided and maintained for the individual providing the transportation. Incumbents must obtain a valid California Class B driver license, within six (6) months of hire or the employee may be subject to extended probation or termination. Please indicate CA license number, class, and expiration date on the Application and Supplemental Questionnaire.

The
Department of Transportation (DOT) mandates drug testing of all employees in jobs requiring a Class B driver license. Persons selected for such positions must pass a medical examination, which includes a drug test. Employees are also subject to random drug testing as well as drug testing following accidents and upon reasonable suspicion.

3% effective February 22, 2025
3% effective February 21, 2026
** Salary increases contingent upon Property Related Revenue and/or statewide Realignment Sales Tax Collections performance.
Minimum RequirementsCandidates must meet the experience requirement to qualify.
EXPERIENCE: Four (4) years of journey-level experience in leading or supervising a team to perform preventative maintenance and repair of automotive, heavy-duty trucks, and equipment. Preference will be given to candidates with supervisory or management experience.
Desired Qualifications- The ideal candidate will have one of the following:
- A Master ASE Technician certification
- Experience with an Automated Fleet Management Information System
- Two (2) years of lead fleet technician (mechanic) experience or one (1) year full-scope supervisory experience in a fleet environment is desirable.
