The City of Chandler Development Services Department is currently seeking qualified individuals interested in joining our team as a Senior Planner. The position is scheduled to work Monday - Friday from 8 am - 5 pm. There may be an option to work remotely once a week upon successful completion of initial probation .

Who we are
The City of Chandler Development Services team, consisting of 83 positions, provides sound land use planning strategies, responsible design development standards, and high quality, safety compliant infrastructure in all areas of Development Services, including planning, GIS, building safety, development engineering, telecommunications and utility franchise, City fiber, transportation engineering, and customer service and permits.

Who we are looking for
Our new team member will have a passion for customer service, teamwork, and collaboration. We are looking for a senior level planning professional who has experience with municipal planning work involving research, review, analysis, coordination and presentation of complex rezoning, Preliminary Development Plan, annexation, and related development requests.

Minimum qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in urban planning, Public Administration, or a related field; and
• 4 years of experience in planning or a related field; and
• Valid Driver's License with acceptable driving record; or
• Any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the knowledge and abilities necessary to perform the work.

Desired qualifications
• 4 years of experience in municipal planning.

This is a regular full-time position, subject to a 6-month probationary period. A register of qualified candidates will be active for 4 months should another position become available.

The City of Chandler will conduct a driving record check as a condition of employment. An offer of employment is contingent upon acceptable results. All applicants hired will be required to be fingerprinted with successful results as a condition of continued employment.
