What you’ll do: - Support team members to ensure the functionality of operations and maintenance, comfort, safety, security, sustainability, and efficiency of the built environment - the buildings the State workforce works in and their surrounding infrastructure.
- Participate in the hiring and training of regional service level managers and their managers and supervisors.
- Organize and oversee the work and schedules of regional service level managers and their team members.
- Conduct performance evaluations on all team members that are timely and constructive as well as track and ensure compliance for monthly professional development meetings for Operations team members.
- Travel to state-owned facilities and institutions statewide to meet with team members and inspect facilities, which constitutes approximately 50% of the work schedule.
- Handle discipline and termination of employees as needed and in accordance with OA policy and FMDC guidelines.
- Establish quantitative and qualitative metrics, guidelines, and standards by which OA-FMDC’s efficiency and effectiveness can be evaluated and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Communicate and explain new directives, policies, guidelines, and procedures to regional service level managers and other direct reports; for major changes, meets with entire Operations staff to explain changes, answer questions, and maintain morale.
- Implement technology, policies, guidelines, and procedures that will improve day-to-day operations.
- Review, analyze, and evaluate business standards and procedures.
- Ensure work environments are adequate, secure, and safe.
- Manage all preventative building maintenance, contractor management, and health and safety compliance management for all state office buildings and institutional buildings.
- Oversee operations and management to ensure each regional area is reaching goals set by departmental and divisional leadership.
- Plan, direct, implement, evaluate, monitor, and forecast operational budgets and costs in each regional division to achieve financial objectives.
- Improve OA-FMDC customer service and satisfaction through policy, guideline, and procedural changes.
- Lead coordination and integration of efforts among operations, design and construction, planning, technology, and administrative sections to produce excellent customer service, smoother workflows and more cost-effective business processes.
- Project and cultivate a positive, healthy culture for and image of the organization to employees, customers, industries, and communities.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
All you need for success:Minimum Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree in a related area of business administration, facilities management/operations, or other related fields.
- Eight (8) years or more of supervisory operations management or related experience.
- Thorough understanding of practices, theories, and policies involved in business and overall finance and budgeting.
- Superior verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
- Superior managerial and diplomacy skills.
- Extremely proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications - Master’s degree in a related area of business administration, facilities management/operations, or other related fields.
- Knowledge and ability to operate project management software, identify and lead process improvements, implement design/construction projects for facilities, and modify systems for related application software.
