This position is with the Office of Administration Division of Facilities Management, Design, and Construction (OA-FMDC) supporting the Operations Team. What you’ll do: - Prioritize excellent customer service for a wide and diverse network of internal and external stakeholders, including but not limited to internal teams, state agencies, state officials, contractors, and the public.
- Perform, supervise, train, and ensure quality of work relating to the 24/7 operations, maintenance, repair, and oversight of boilers, chillers, high-pressure steam plants, and other mechanical equipment.
- Provide assistance in more complex projects and supervision of vocational-level employees, including hire recommendations, training, planning, and assigning work, performance assessment, coaching, and more. (Supervision at this level also requires these employees to have the knowledge and skills to perform and review the work overseen.)
- Perform administrative oversight including compiling reports on monthly utility usage, water sampling and testing, monitoring, and adjusting equipment, ordering parts and supplies, planning for preventative maintenance tasks, and more.
- Follow all OA-FMDC health and safety protocols in addition to OSHA standards.
- Prioritize and manage purchasing requests, monthly administrative programs, time and leave usage, facility coverage, and training program compliance.
- Answer emergency calls and provide occasional shift coverage to ensure facility is staffed appropriately.
All you need for success: - Ability to communicate, collaborate, and lead with integrity in a manner that inspires trust and builds positive rapport with a diverse group of stakeholders and the public.
- Considerable knowledge of building operations, maintenance, and repair of boilers, chillers, high-pressure steam plants; including but not limited to knowledge of generators, electronic controls, meters, pumps, and Building Automation Systems (BAS).
- Ability to plan, manage, and direct numerous time-sensitive tasks independently or as part of a team using applicable procedures, processes, regulations, and practices.
- Supervisory experience including but not limited to making hiring recommendations, planning, and assigning work, performance assessment, coaching, training, and mentoring.
- Ability to comprehend, analyze and interpret complex technical documentation and manuals to troubleshoot, diagnose, remediate, and repair.
- 3-5 years of skilled experience in trades, building maintenance, or construction.
- Ability to discern skill set needed for projects and whether it can be completed in-house or by a contractor.
- Possess and maintain a valid driver’s license from Missouri or from an adjacent state if you reside outside of Missouri.
- Safety-first mindset with considerable knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions of all trade areas. (OSHA 10 and/or 30 certifications preferred.)
