Job Location: This position can be domiciled at the Joplin Satellite Office, which is an extension of the Springfield Regional Office. Travel between these two locations is required. Travel will be as necessary but not frequent.

Role Description: This position is responsible for supporting multiple teams at the Springfield Regional Office and the Joplin Satellite Office. However, the primary responsibilities will consist of the Utilization Review process and appeals process. This position will be responsible for tracking and sending letters as well as coordinating the appeals process.
What you’ll do: - Serves as receptionist or information clerk as needed; determines purpose of contact; provide general information; receives and distributes messages; and schedules and/or arranges appointments.
- Compose routine correspondence, proofreads and/or finalizes letters, memorandums, reports, or other documents for approval.
- Update organizational list which includes working with Provider Agencies to obtain their current mailing address and contact information.
- Attend and take minutes for the Provider Relation meetings and other meetings at Springfield Regional Office and Joplin Satellite Office.
- Utilization Review (UR) weekly process/appeal. Draft, print, send letters to individuals and guardians who have been approved or denied changes to their plans under the direction of the UR coordinator. Maintain UR tracker and route returned letters as needed. The UR process is completed for 5 counties and consist of approximately 70 letters being sent and tracked on a weekly basis. Coordinate the request for the appeal process by assembling the needed documentation, scheduling the appeals meeting with the Director, consumer, and/or guardian. Upon receipt of the appeal decision from the Director, the Director will draft a notification letter that this position will need to print, and send to the consumer and/or guardian, Asst. Director, fiscal, UR coordinator, Service Coordinator and Service Coordinator Supervisor.
- Ineligibility Appeals Process -- Set up an appeal meeting with the Director, Consumer, and/or Guardian. Assemble the file in preparation for the meeting including the individual's intake file. Ineligibility determination is upheld then draft the letter to the consumer or guardian and send to the Director for signature/approval. Print, copy, and send letter to the consumer and/or guardian along with "Your right to appeal" brochure. Send a copy to the Intake Lead and Intake worker.
- Request for Springfield Regional Office or Joplin Satellite Office Appeal Hearing Referee -- Provide the Appeal Hearing Referee the following information via mail: (1) Contact information; (2) reason for the appeal; (3) date and time appeal with the Regional Office Director; (4) denial letter.
- Assist Lead Admin Support Assistant team as needed as workflow fluctuates.
Typical Qualifications: 3 -- 5 years of experience as an executive assistant or administrative Assistant.
Preferred Skillset: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, time management skills and ability to meet deadlines; strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask; strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to problem solve and independent decision making; and strong interpersonal skills.
