    The Position

    Clinical Social Workers provide clinical services to clients/inmates in a residential, home, inpatient, outpatient, rehabilitation, correctional or similar setting.

    Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform work independently with little or no additional training.

    The Division of Public and Behavioral Health Northern Nevada Adult Mental Health Services is hiring for a Clinical Social Worker 2. This position will provide clinical services to clients in Dini-Townsend Hospital. Dini-Townsend is a 30-bed acute psychiatric hospital for individuals with Severe Mental Illness (SMI) located in Sparks, NV. Clinical Social Worker's will work under our Director of Social Services.     To Qualify:

    In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
    Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications) Licensure as a Clinical Social Worker by the Board of Examiners for Social Workers. Special Notes Incumbents must obtain and maintain licensure or provisional licensure to engage in social work as a Clinical Social Worker or associate in social work in accordance with NRS Chapter 641B and the regulations adopted by the Board of Examiners for Social Workers. Persons employed by a government agency on July 1, 1988 as a social worker, supervisor of social work or administrator of social work who were performing clinical social work duties, and who possess a license to practice as an associate in social work and who meet the experience requirements are eligible to compete in the selection process for this series. Special Requirements Working evenings, weekends, and/or holidays is required. A pre-employment criminal history check and fingerprinting are required. Pursuant to NRS 284.4066, this position has been identified as affecting public safety. Persons offered employment in this position must submit to a pre-employment screening for controlled substances. A valid driver's license is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment. The Examination Application Evaluation Exam The exam will consist of an application evaluation. It is essential that applications include detailed information with time frames regarding education and experience. The most qualified applicants will be contacted by the hiring agency for interview.     Today, Nevada is the nation's seventh largest state in land area. Several hundred mountain ranges cross its landscape, many with elevations over 10,000 feet. In contrast, the State's lowest point (along the Colorado River) is only 470 feet above sea level. From majestic mountains to desert valleys, nature has endowed Nevada with diverse and unique ecosystems.
