ABOUT THE POSITIONThe Clark County Department of Finance, Comptroller Office, is seeking qualified candidates to apply for the Employment Systems Coordinator position. As a member of our team, you will coordinate, administer, and perform quality assurance of county wide payroll, employment actions and records or organizational management systems. You will also create and extract customized reports, provide analysis over personnel, payroll or other financial data. Employment Systems Coordinator will perform user acceptance testing, and be responsible for approving leave and earning requests, Annual Performance Reviews for staff, as well as disciplinary actions as needed.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTSEducation and Experience: Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, Organizational Management, Public Administration or a related field; and three (3) years full-time administrative and/or professional level experience working with personnel systems or similar experience. Lead or supervisory experience desirable. Professional level experience and/or education that has provided the skills and knowledge necessary to perform all job functions at this level may be substituted on a year-for-year basis.All qualifying education and each experience must be clearly documented in the “Education” and “Work Experience” sections of the application.

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES- Plans, organizes, assigns, supervises, reviews and evaluates the work of subordinate staff.
- Provides for the training and development of assigned staff in specific functional areas.

- Ensures that standards are communicated and adhered to on a countywide basis.

- Organizes, prioritizes and coordinates multiple work activities and meets critical deadlines.
- Conducts studies and audits and prepares reports, recommendations and remediates identified issues in accordance with collective bargaining agreement, federal and state laws, standard accounting practices, regulations and established policies and procedures.
- Provides technical expertise and advice to management, county departments and internal staff regarding complex payroll, employment actions and records or organizational management issues.
- Provides information which requires the use of tact, discretion and the interpretation of complex interpretation.
- Uses initiative and independent judgment within established functional areas.
- Ensures that immediate supervisor is apprised of issues; provides recommendations regarding resolutions.
- Analyzes alternatives and makes recommendations regard matters within assigned areas of responsibility.
- Determines analytical techniques and data gathering processes and obtains required information for analysis.
- Assists with and performs specific management supported activities such as ad hoc reporting for specialized requests, complex data analysis and other research and analysis as assigned.
- Coordinates and collaborates with other positions in class to ensure that countywide needs, goals and objectives are met.
- Works to establish consistent policies and procedures.
- Confers with and represents the department and the County in meetings with staff from other departments, representatives of governmental, community, business, professional and public agencies and the public.
- Maintains accurate records and files related to the areas of assignment.
- Prepares a variety of technical, statistical and narrative reports, correspondence and other written materials.
- Contributes to the efficiency and effectiveness of the unit's service to its customers by offering suggestions and directing or participating as an active member of a work team.
- Uses standard office equipment including a computer, in the course of the work.
- May drive a County or personal motor vehicle or be able to arrange for appropriate transportation in order to attend off-site meetings and visit various work sites.
