    Requirements

    MOS CODE: None

    Education and Experience : A Bachelor's Degree or higher in Public Administration, Business, Social Work, Education, Communications or related field, plus two (2) years of professional community outreach, grant administration, neighborhood/community assistance, or social services experience.

    Licenses and Certificates : Texas Class "C" Driver's License or equivalent from another state.

    General Purpose

    Under general supervision provide professional level assistance in planning, developing, and organizing neighborhood and community-based, grant funded programs and services.

    Typical Duties

    Plan, develop, and organize community programs and services. Involves: provide outreach and capacity building to residents to increase civic engagement and stabilize and improve the quality of life in neighborhoods. Design flyers and other outreach material to publicize and promote project activities. Act as a liaison with the public to prepare and develop presentations to neighborhood associations and other community stakeholders regarding opportunities to participate in project activities and other quality of life programs.

    Oversee and monitor implementation of grant-funded programs and services. Plan and supervise work related to grants planning and implementation. Analyze feasibility of applying for grant programs. Plan, organize and develop program designs, budgets and applications for grant proposals and project implementation. Participate in budget negotiations with funding sources. Develop and administer budgets for grant-funded projects. Develop and monitor project milestones, schedules and scopes.

    Assist residents in organizing and registering neighborhood and civic associations with the City. Plan and develop leadership training opportunities for neighborhood associations and other grassroots leaders in the community. Assist in the implementation of neighborhood-oriented infrastructure projects. Coordinate and facilitate meetings with the community, neighborhood associations, City departments, businesses and property owners. Evaluate eligibility and feasibility of proposed projects. Assist in application preparation as required for local, state and federal funding. Prepare monthly and annual reports and maintain database, records and files. Respond to general inquires and provide a high level of customer service for neighborhood programs and resources related to project activities. Attend neighborhood meetings, City Council, community meetings and other gatherings to represent the City.
