This position is with the Office of Administration Division of Facilities Management, Design, and Construction (OA-FMDC) supporting the Operations Team. What you’ll do: - Complete a variety of semi-skilled work in the alteration, maintenance, and repair of state buildings, facilities vehicles, and equipment.
- Maintain grounds for buildings overseen through horticultural care, miscellaneous debris and trash disposal, snow removal and salt application.
- Perform manual labor in connection with the receiving, handling, and storing of building materials and other similar items.
- Assist in cleaning of parking lots and patching and painting asphalt.
- Perform light electrical, plumbing, drywall repairs, and painting.
- Execute assignments in the form of work orders in a timely and accurate manner.
- Receive general supervision from a maintenance and/or specialized trades supervisor.
- Travel to other facilities (within a 2-hour radius) to provide occasional assistance.
- Prioritize excellent customer service for a wide and diverse network of internal and external stakeholders, including but not limited to internal teams, state agencies, state officials, contractors, and the public.
- Follow all OA-FMDC health and safety protocols in addition to OSHA standards.
All you need for success: - Ability to understand and carry out time-sensitive instructions independently or as part of a team.
- Ability to work outdoors under varying weather conditions.
- Ability to properly lift and carry 50 lbs.
- Ability to operate gas- and hand-powered lawn maintenance tools and equipment.
- General knowledge of grounds keeping, trades work, maintenance, and repair.
- Ability to operate mowing machinery, tractors, and/or motorized equipment.
- Must possess and maintain a valid Missouri driver’s license or from an adjacent state if you reside outside of Missouri.
- Safety-first mindset with understanding of occupational hazards and safety precautions. (OSHA 10 certification preferred.)

*This position is physically demanding. Examples of job duties may include prolonged periods of walking/standing/sitting/bending/driving, climbing ladders, ability to lift/carry up to 50 pounds, working in inclement weather and working on uneven or elevated surfaces.
