    Summary

    Minimum Starting Salary: $49,647 Annually - Depending on Qualifications

    Join our dynamic team as an Aquatics Supervisor, where you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation and success of our aquatic facilities! In this leadership position, you'll supervise and support a passionate staff, overseeing daily activities while ensuring the highest standards of safety and compliance.     Minimum Qualifications
    Required:
    • Bachelor's Degree in Parks & Recreation, Business, Public Administration, or a related field
    • 3 years of experience developing and implementing aquatics programs and activities, and managing swim facilities
      • 2 years of which were in a lead or supervisor capacity
      • Or an equivalent combination of education & experience
    • Lifeguard Certification
    • CPR Certification
    • First Aid Certification
    • Valid Driver's License
    • Certified Pool Operator (CPO) required within 30 days
    Preferred:
    • Lifeguard Instructor Certification


    Job Summary
    Under basic supervision, the Aquatics Supervisor supports, supervises, and monitors the operations, care, and maintenance of aquatics facilities and community pool for the Parks & Recreation Department.

    Essential Functions
    • Supervises and supports the activities of staff and daily operations of the aquatics facilities; delegates
      authority and responsibility for assigned tasks to subordinates; monitors and oversees maintenance, safety,
      licensing, and compliance.
    • Coordinates, develops, and directs the organization's aquatic programs and activities.
    • Recruits, hires, trains, and facilitates the success of aquatics staff.
    • Maintains equipment, inventory, and supplies.
    • Provides quality customer service and public interaction; resolves complaints.

    Governance and Organization

    Waco is a home rule city with a council-manager form of government. The City Council is comprised of a Mayor, elected at-large, and five City Council members representing single-member districts, all serving two-year terms. The City Council sets the tax rate, approves the budget, appoints members to City boards and commissions, enacts City ordinances, and appoints the City Manager, City Attorney, City Secretary, and the Municipal Court Judge.

    The City has a strong Financial Management Policy that guides the operation and delivery of quality City services, contributes to excellent AA+ and Aa1 bond ratings, and maintains an unassigned fund balance reserve in the General Fund equal to 28% of current year budgeted expenditures. The City of Waco has more than 1,600 employees and a total operating budget of over $400 million.

    The City provides a full range of municipal services including a regional airport, animal services, building inspections, code enforcement, convention and visitors bureau, emergency management, housing and community development, economic development, fire, public health, library, municipal court, parks and recreation, planning, police, public works, Texas Ranger Hall of Fame Museum, utilities and zoo operations.
