    Position Description
    Performs administrative duties in the management and coordination of a large specialized project and program. Performs varied and complex administrative duties requiring independent judgment and the application of established policies and procedures. May provide supervision and direction to clerical, paraprofessional or professional staff members.

    Major/Essential Functions
    The Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center (TTUHSC) Division of Research Innovation, Collaboration, and Entrepreneurship (RICE) is seeking a Research Innovation Program Director. This role focuses on fostering a culture of innovation by building programs and relationships that empower faculty and students to advance research discoveries into real-world applications. The Program Director will play a central role in enhancing TTUHSC's research innovation capacity by driving education, outreach, and collaboration across disciplines.

    Program Development and Resource Coordination: Lead initiatives that connect faculty and students to resources supporting innovation and commercialization, including partnerships with Texas Tech University's Innovation Hub. Streamline access to infrastructure and tools that help translate research into practical solutions.

    Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement: Facilitate cross-disciplinary and cross-institutional collaborations, fostering partnerships with industry, external stakeholders, and academic teams. Act as a liaison to bridge faculty and commercialization resources, ensuring alignment with TTUHSC's mission to drive impactful research.

    Faculty and Student Support: Actively engage with faculty to identify their research innovation needs, providing mentorship and connections to funding opportunities, technical assistance, and commercialization pathways. Support students in developing entrepreneurial skills through educational programming and personalized guidance.

    Education and Outreach: Organize workshops, seminars, and educational initiatives that raise awareness of TTUHSC's innovation resources. Provide accessible training for faculty and students on navigating commercialization processes and securing innovation-related grants.

    Grantsmanship and Technical Writing: Guide the development of competitive grant applications for research innovation projects. Collaborate with faculty to prepare infrastructure-focused grants that enhance the institution's capabilities and resources.

    Service-Oriented Leadership: Foster a supportive environment by prioritizing open communication, collaboration, and an understanding of faculty goals. Cultivate relationships that enhance TTUHSC's reputation for research innovation and entrepreneurship.


    Required Qualifications
    Bachelor's degree in the area of specialization or closely related field. Four years of related administrative and technical experience. Additional job related education may be substituted for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.
