    The Position

    Construction Project Coordinators perform a variety of building construction coordination and inspection work requiring a broad knowledge of construction principles and practices, including specialty areas such as roofing, asbestos, underground storage tanks, paving, Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) structural and access requirements, and facility analysis.

    Incumbents function as first-line supervisors who train, supervise and evaluate the performance of assigned staff; assign and review work; and initiate disciplinary action.

    This recruitment is for a Construction Project Coordinator 3 (CPC) position, located in Carson City within the Division of State Public Works (SPW). It is supervised by the Deputy Administrator of Professional Services located in Carson City. This positions responsibilities are to supervise the work of three construction project coordinators to coordinate agency office moves and provide project coordination for State Public Works Division. Incumbent will work with staff and fiscal to ensure all vendors and associated work is properly procured and paid for upon completion. Will work with the Department of Administration Directors Office, Administrative Services Division and agencies for move coordination. To include OCIO to determine Technology needs for agency moves work with Division IT personnel or OCIO through implementation. Coordinate agency furniture layout needs, work with staff, vendors and agencies through successful installation.     To Qualify:

    In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
    Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications) Associate's degree from an accredited college or technical school with major coursework in architecture, engineering or related field and three years of building construction experience, two years of which involved coordination of construction projects; a broad range of construction inspection work including plumbing, heating and electrical systems, air conditioning systems, earthwork and landscaping; and the review and interpretation of construction contracts and plan specifications, building codes, architectural drawings and specifications to ensure compliance with plan design, specifications and contract agreements; OR one year of experience as a Construction Project Coordinator II in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above. Special Requirements A pre-employment criminal history check and fingerprinting are required. Persons offered employment in this position will be required to pay for these items. Requires a valid driver's license or evidence of equivalent mobility at the time of appointment and for continuing employment.
