- Install, maintain, and repair telecommunication terminal devices such as network servers, network operations and components, telephones, key telephone systems, teleprocessing terminals, modems, personal computers and diagnostic equipment
- Perform inspections of premises to determine optimum location of equipment and mode of installation, including design drafting of a telecommunication plan for each location
- Assemble and/or disassemble telecommunication equipment according to installation diagrams, schematics or work orders
- Test newly installed equipment and make connections to regulated facilities
- Maintain records concerning the maintenance and repair of equipment and the installation diagrams, schematics, etc.
- Perform complex installations, testing, maintenance, diagnostic and repairs
- Maintain an inventory of telecommunication equipment, and transport equipment to various office locations throughout the state
- Use, calibrate and maintain electronic testing equipment such as multimeters, dtmf/dial pulse analyzers, test tone generations, bridges, etc.
- Prepare schematics, wiring diagrams and other drawings indicating the placement of telecommunications terminal equipment
- Attend training to stay current with new hardware and software technologies in the area of telecommunications
- Perform other related work as assigned
- Demonstrate regular and reliable attendance
- Beneficial education and/or work-related experience includes technical or professional education and/or experience in telecommunications involving installation, repair and maintenance of voice and data equipment or other closely related area
- Ability to routinely maneuver and/or lift furniture components, supplies and equipment weighing up to 50 lbs. with or without assistance as well as work on ladders, above ceiling grids and floor ducts. Ability to maintain valid MO Drivers’ License. Ability to work in an open warehouse that is not climate controlled. Subject to heat and/or cold, dusty conditions. Considerable amount of walking, standing, bending, kneeling, reaching, etc.
