San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department is recruiting for a
Chief Deputy Director of Sheriff's Administration to manage the Sheriff’s Bureau of Administration and Automotive divisions, including budget and financial operations of over $1.0 billion annually. The incumbent will provide oversight of long term financial and capital planning; grant programs; accounts payable and receivable, including Medi-Cal billing; position control; inmate welfare accounting; audit; procurement and contracting functions; and review pending legislation to determine operational impacts and make recommendations.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
Pre-Employment Process: Applicants must successfully pass a background check and a job-related physical exam, including a drug test, prior to employment. Sheriff's employees must pass an extensive background investigation, including a polygraph examination. Applicants must not have been convicted of a felony.
Environment: The incumbent will be required to perform site visits to Sheriff's stations and facilities, as needed, including County detention facilities.
Sponsorship: San Bernardino County is not able to consider candidates who will require visa sponsorship at the time of application or in the future.
Desired QualificationsEducation: Bachelor's degree in public/business administration, accounting, finance, or closely related field.
-AND-Experience: Four (4) years of progressive administrative and/or management experience in a complex organization performing program administration, budgetary oversight, and complex organizational and financial analysis of business operations. Experience must include three (3) years of full scope supervisory experience comparable to an Administrative Supervisor I or higher in San Bernardino County.
Master's degree in public/business administration, accounting, or finance and experience in a public sector law enforcement agency is highly desired.
Candidates possessing an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be considered.
