Job Summary Under the general direction of the Benefits Services Manager, the Benefits Services Quality Assurance Specialist provides support to the Benefits Services Manager for daily operations in administering the administrative and technical support in the delivery of employee benefits to the University employees and their eligible dependents. This position is responsible for the processing of benefits for all employee transactions as well as full audits in support of transactions to ensure program compliance. Provides support which includes assisting employees in completing required forms for the benefits department. Works on resolving employee inquiries which may require facilitating involvement from the CSU Benefits Office, State Agencies (CalPERS, SCO) and/or plan providers. This position is responsible for maintaining the data integrity of the PeopleSoft Benefits Module, current required reporting for the Affordable Care Act (ACA). Run ACA Reports in the PeopleSoft Module and PIMS.
Key Responsibilities - PeopleSoft/Benefits Administration Processes- Operation, Benefits Enrollment and Maintenance of Employee Benefits Administration. Has primary responsibility for data entry and maintenance of PeopleSoft with respect to benefits data. This includes activities related to the quarterly Dependent Eligibility Verification (DEV) processing. Runs and reviews error reports daily and makes needed corrections.
- Affordable Care Act Data Entry Enrollment and Tracking activities. Performs ACA/SCO server data entry functions, audits for accuracy and completeness of data to ensure integrity for Federal reporting requirements. Meets key deadlines. Keys ACA benefits enrollments into Employee Benefits Administration and updates Workforce Administration accordingly.
- Answers benefits-related calls and emails in a timely and accurate manner. Acts as backup resource for other Benefits Support Team members.
- PeopleSoft/Benefits Administration Processes for CO- Has primary responsibility for data entry and maintenance of PeopleSoft with respect to benefits data. This includes ACA activity
Knowledge Skills and Abilities Knowledge of HR/Personnel issues, methods and procedures related to benefits administration. Demonstrated ability to perform all key responsibilities. Ability to perform data entry at an appropriate rate of speed with acceptable accuracy. Demonstrated organizational skills. Ability to coordinate many different projects tasks, determine relative importance of each, prioritize and set appropriate deadlines to complete all tasks accordingly. Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing. Ability to effectively utilize the CMS baseline PeopleSoft, HR System; PeopleSoft experience preferred. Ability to run processes, monitor process completion and interpret results. Team player; ability to share responsibility and ownership for team goals and results. Ability to understand and take direction but work independently when appropriate. Ability to make substantial contribution to the continued operation and growth of the organization. Experience working on a diverse academic organization.

Education and Experience - Equivalent to four years of administrative support experience required.
- Bachelor's Degree preferred.
- Working knowledge of PeopleSoft functionality preferred.
- Prior experience working with employee benefits or payroll is a plus.
Physical Summary Sedentary work - Involves mainly sitting. Walking and standing are minimal. Lifting is limited to lightweight objects. (10 pounds or less).

Compensation Salary placement is determined by the education, experience, and qualifications the candidate brings to the position, internal equity, and the hiring department’s fiscal resources.
CSU Classification Salary Range: The CSU Classification Salary Range for this position is $3,864 - $6,072 per month.
Benefits Excellent benefits through CalPERS (health, vision, dental), tuition fee waiver, generous vacation and sick leave, and 14 paid holidays each year.
Time Base 1.0 time-base, 40 hours per week.
Duration of Appointment This is a temporary position for one year with no permanent status granted. Temporary assignments may expire prior to the ending date.
